Scrap the Boys August Challenge "Funday"

Hi Scrap Friends

Today I'm sharing a layout created for the August challenge at
Scrap the Boys.

My layout "Funday"

This months inspiration was

When I also saw the cut file inspiration, I had an idea ...

Now mostly when my ideas start out, they end up nothing like what I imagined.
I'm pleased to say that this one did!

I cut the geo leaves first and then laid them on white cardstock.
I then used Colour Blast sprays and shimmer sprays over the top.
Once dry, I lifted the coloured leaves and laid them on the layout for dimension.

Surprisingly, I hadn't chosen a photo before starting the page. When I went through the photo stash, I found this one of Master Z hunting for easter eggs beneath a tree!
Couldn't believe it was just perfect!
Some paper layering and minimal embellishments really let the background shine.

I really feel like my mojo has been missing lately but I love how this one turned out.

Thanks for visiting.
Happy Scrapping.

CSI Challenge Blog - May challenge Scrapbook Layout "Memories"

Hi Scrap Friends

Today I'm sharing a layout created for the challenge at
CSI Challenge Blog

"Memories"

The inspiration for this page comes from this board ....

As with the old style CSI challenge you are given some tasks. I decided to play along with these.

EVIDENCE
  • stripes
  • washi tape
  • leaves/branches
  • hand-drawn elements
  • paint
  • circles
TESTIMONY (JOURNALING IDEAS)
  • Topic: Document something about your creative hobby.
  • Presentation: Handwrite your journaling.
  • Inspiration Words: creative
Looking through my printed photo stash, I found this one of my Lego house - a gift to myself at Christmas.
It got me thinking about creativity (inspiration word).

My journalling explains that in a house full of lego mad boys what else are you gonna do? Join Em'
I quite enjoy sitting down with a pile of lego and getting creative.

I used acrylic paint to make background stripes, hand drew some elements from the moodboard and chose paper and embellishments from the colour scheme.

I had such fun with this challenge and really like the resulting layout.

--- A2Z Scraplets DT --- "So Happy Together" Scrapbook layout

Hi Scrap Friends

Today I'm sharing a layout for A2Z Scraplets

My layout "So happy together"

So 2018 has seen me focus on stash busting instead of "shopping" for new supplies.
I am loving the challenge of creating with items already available to me.

Behind the photo you'll see the circular piece of black and white.
This is actually a centre piece of chipboard left overs that I've covered with washi tape and paper strips.

To title this page, I've used the "So happy together" word

Firstly I've applied a coat of Colour Blast Embossing Powder "Just Blue".
Then I've masked the "So happy" words with washi tape before painting "together" with gel medium.
While the gel medium is still sticky, I've sprinkled the whole word with glitter.

Other elements on the page are a Charm's Creation star, Colour Blast paste and lots of paper layers.

Thanks for visiting.
Happy Scrapping.

 Hi Scrap Friends

Today I've got a layout to share for Scrapbook Boutique

I seriously adore this collection ...

I decided to use the collection for a Birthday layout, I'm also going to show you how to use it in an ordinary boy layout for my next project.

I combined the collection with the Tim Holtz Distress Crayons and the packaging technique.

I've also included some of the new Rug Mesh in my background layers.

You can find all of these products at

Here is the process video if you'd like to watch how I completed this page.

--- A2Z Scraplets DT --- September challenge reveal layout "Shine"

Hi Scrap Friends

Today I'm sharing a layout for A2Z Scraplets

My layout "Shine"

For this months challenge we'd like you to create a Christmas page without using traditional colours.
I chose mint & silver.

The chipboard pieces are
Shine word and Bec's Christmas tree shape

For the Shine word, I added first a coat of Colour Blast embossing powder in "Steel" and then a coat of "Snow White"

For the Christmas Tree, I added a coat of white gesso, then coloured with my Tim Holtz Distress Crayon, then added a coat of Colour Blast embossing powder in "Snow White" - for that little bit of sparkle.

I love how this layout has a definite Christmas feel (with that sweet photo) but there is no traditional colours.

We sure hope you can play along this month.

Jot Magazine - January Moodboard challenge layout "Love"

Hi Scrap Friends

Today's layout share is created for the January challenge at

My page "Love"

My inspiration was the bed.

I'm seriously addicted to quilt cover sets and purchase them a LOT!
So I decided to document the story of our bed.

My layers come from various 6x6 paper pieces trimmed and then layered in the background.
I've coloured some cheeseclothe and made the journalling an important part of the page!

I've also included some nautical elements from the moodboard and of course stuck with the colours.

Thanks for visiting.

 Hi Scrap Friends
