*** Mystical Scrapbooks DT *** March challenge inspiration 12x12 scrapbook layout

 

Hi Crafters

Today's share is for Mystical Scrapbooks

March is all about "Fire & Ice" inspiration.

I've created this mood board and thought I'd share my inspiration.

Moodboards can strike you in a lot of different ways.

Here are some examples:

- watercolour

- butterflies

- fireworks

- Red, yellow, orange, pink

- Autumn and all things celebrated in Autumn

- flowers

- opposing colours

- trees

- black background

My layout "Family Life" 

I've started with orange cardstock background.

Then I've used the Distress Oxide through a stencil

The Nuvo Crystal Drops helped add some texture over the stencil.

This is my first time using them and they are so lovely and smooth and dry quite quickly.

To finish I've added some paper layers behind my photo and added a title

I've doodled a faux stitched border and sprinkled sequins around. 

This is so different from my normal white backgrounds but I love the simplicity.

*** Mystical Scrapbooks DT *** December inspiration "Happy" Mixed Media 12x12 layout

Hi Crafters

Today I'm sharing a little bit of mixed media inspiration for Mystical Scrapbooks

I adore the Frosted Sugar Powder and wanted to explore some of it's uses.

So I decided to combine it with Multi Medium and  Colour Blast Shimmer Dust Peacock.

I trialled it through a stencil but couldn't get the desired effect so I ended up with a freestyle background.

I've teamed this with Fancy Pants paper and Fancy Pants tags

I like to have some form of border on my layouts so Washi tape was perfect for this.

To finish I added some Simple Stories Embellishments a bit of Gold splatter and some Sequins.

Today I'm sharing a layout for A2Z Scraplets

My layout "You melt my heart"

The inspiration for this page came from the beautiful red sparkly chipboard.
"You melt my heart"

I've treated the chipboard with Colour Blast embossing powder and then created a background filled with reds, black and whites.
I've layered the paper and then added some messy white gesso before curling the edges of the papers and adding some black ink splatters.

I adore this photo of Master Z being so cheeky and playing coy.

Today I'm sharing my page for the June moodboard challenge at
Off the Rails Scrapbooking

"Keeper"



This months inspiration board has so much to choose from.

I was immediately drawn to the sunglasses, so took that as my theme.
Digging through my photo stash, I discovered this photo of DH at the beach with his sunnies on - perfect.

My 2018 challenge is to bust my stash - so I picked an older collection that focused on the turquoise/blue theme.

I kept it fairly simple with lots of colour and just a little bit of distress ink in the background.

Looking through my printed photo stash, I found this one of my Lego house - a gift to myself at Christmas.

It got me thinking about creativity (inspiration word).

My journalling explains that in a house full of lego mad boys what else are you gonna do? Join Em'

I quite enjoy sitting down with a pile of lego and getting creative.

I used acrylic paint to make background stripes, hand drew some elements from the moodboard and chose paper and embellishments from the colour scheme.

I had such fun with this challenge and really like the resulting layout.

--- A2Z Scraplets DT --- "Snapshot" Scrapbook layout

Today I'm sharing a layout for A2Z Scraplets

My layout "Snapshot"

How great does it feel when you create something you love?

This page just happened!!! I love that!

I started with the background ...

I'd used the Silhouette Cameo to create a cut file.

The white hearts are the left over.

While they are still on the cutting mat, I add some glue and then lay a piece of 12x12 paper over the top.

Once dry, peel off the 12x12 and Voila ... a reverse cut file. 

I then added some Colour Blast Spray in "Bling" and let it run down the page.

I created the cluster using stash papers and then decided to have some fun adding chipboard!

I chose the Hanging hearts shape and gave it a coat of black gesso to really help lift it off the page.

Then I chose the Snapshot title and covered it with Colour Blast embossing powder in Bling.

A little gold washi tape and some sequins really help finish this page off.

--- Colour Blast DT --- "Note" Scrapbook layout + process video

Today I'm sharing a new project for Colour Blast

"Note"

This page was inspired by some pieces I got from A2Z Scraplets.

These Chevron borders were just asking to be covered with Colour Shimmer Dust.

I initially started with "Peacock" and "Velvet"

This quickly changed to also include "Navy" and "Cobalt".

Firstly I started with some background paper - light colours will help the Colour shimmer really lift off the page.

I've cut and adhered the chipboard pieces and then liberally applied some White Heavy Gesso

Start small with the Shimmer Dust and activate with water.

Allow the colour to run and move.

Dry with the heat gun after each application.

I continued to apply different Colour Shimmer dusts until I was happy with the background.

I then added some embellishments and my cluster

Today I'm sharing a layout for A2Z Scraplets

My layout "It's the little things"

This page uses the adorable

"It's the little things" chipboard

I've coloured it with Distress Crayons firstly in red to help it pop off the neutral Christmas page and then with gold accents on the smaller words.

The background features

- Kaisercraft "Christmas Edition"

- Texture paste

- Distress ink through a stencil

- Colour Blast Shimmer Spray "Bling"

- Collectables and die cuts

- sequins

- washi tape

- stamping

I created this on a diagonal with the photo highlighted in the centre.

 It's a busy page, but not overpowering because of the neutral palette.

I love how the chipboard really pops off the background work and helps lift the photo.

My hand made item is the flair from "Just add flair"

I am seriously loving this collection from DCWV.
You can find it here in the Scrapbook Boutique store.

I've flipped the sketch to suit this paper - cactus are not really my thing but I quite like the final result of this page.

I've done some fussy cutting as this collection doesn't have any die cuts or stickers ...

really made me think a little hard about the papers available to me.

For the background you'll find Colour Blast Shimmer spray "Envy", some stitching, stamping and sequins to finish.

D-Lish Scraps August challenge Entries - Scrapbook layouts

This month I challenged myself to create for FUN!

In other words, I spend a lot of time creating for DT commitments and sometimes I just want to make pretty pages.

So I joined the challenges at D-Lish Scraps.

First - the moodboard and JAP (Just add paper) kit.

The JAP had a cool brick wall die cut, so I used that as inspiration for my background.
I also included some mud splatters with the sweet stencil and some Colour Blast paste in 'Leather"
