*** Mystical Scrapbook DT *** August Challenge reveal 12 x 12 Sketch challenge

Hi Crafters

How is it the start of month already?

Today I'm sharing a new challenge for Mystical Scrapbooks

This month we are focusing on sketches with a side of chipboard.

"Love this Moment"

I've designed this layout and then given you this sketch to use as you are inspired.

For this layout I've been playing with

Uniquely Creative "Choose your own adventure" collection

I also needed some colour in the background ... so I pulled out watercolours

To embellish I've used lots of Cocoa Vanilla Studio "Legendary"

and topped it off with some CVS Flair buttons

For the title I've used the Love this Moment chipboard and treated it with acrylic paint and embossing powder.

I'm looking forward to seeing your sketch inspired layouts.

Have fun creating!

*** Mystical Scrapbooks *** 8 week challenge - Around the world - Week 8: Australia

And our last leg brings us back to the place we love... 'down under'!

Australia boasts some of the world's most beautiful natural wonders such as the Great Barrier Reef - the world's largest coral reef system, the Heritage Listed Ayers Rock (Uluru), the Bungle Bungles in Western Australia, the Twelve Apostles along the Great Ocean Road. Man-made icons include the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House. *
Well, here we are home again.

* Australian explor

Well, here we are home again in Australia.
I have so enjoyed my Around the World trip.

My final layout share is "Scenic Route"

Using negative space is a real challenge for me.
I'm kind of a more is more scrapper.

So for this layout I started with White Cardstock.
I created an area of interest on the left by adding random strips of paper.

Choosing a photo was easy ... this is one of Master Z in his Birthday suit making a run for it on Fraser Island!

I added some black ink splatters and got stuck.

I put the layout aside for a couple of days and tried to decide how to make this layout into something I love but still meet the negative space criteria.

Stitching was the answer.

In the video you'll see how I did the chain stitch but you can find lots of detailed tutorial on YouTube.

Thank you for joining us for this 8 week Challenge.

It has been such fun seeing how you've all interpreted the challenges.

Can't wait to see who our winners are.

Thanks for visiting.

Happy Scrapping

Hi Crafters

Today's share is for Mystical Scrapbooks

April we are challenging you to use Black + 1

So I'd like you to use black + teal.

Then I've used the Nuvo drops in Blue Lagoon through the Cadence mixed media stencil

I chose my photo and added some paper layers behind it.

The chipboard piece is My heart is full from Dusty Attic which I've covered with Gold embossing powder

To finish I've added some flower clusters in those teal and turquoise colours

I can't wait to see your Black + teal creations.

I just adore this wood grain floral paper from Colour Blast - Love & Grace

*** Mystical Scrapbooks DT *** February Inspiration 12x12 layout "100% Boy"

Hi Crafters

Today I'm sharing a new layout for Mystical Scrapbooks

I'm loving this rainbow background from Colour Blast Bee Arty

I wanted to keep it fairly simple so I added some Art alchemy Metallique Wax through the Stencil

A little tip when using the metallique wax, - it doesn't clean off with water. I had to use paper towel and significant soap to get it off my hands.

While I let the wax dry, I used Embossing powder to treat the 100% Boy chipboard

You can watch the whole process in the video:

Happy Scrapping.

--- Mystical Scrapbooks DT --- August Cyber Crop Challenge - Sketch + textiles

Hi Crafters

Today I'm sharing a new layout created for
Mystical Scrapbooks

For August we are focusing on textiles.
The online cybercrop starts today and my challenge is to use the sketch + textiles.

Here is my inspiration "Special Memories"

If you'd like to join in with the challenges, you can find them here: Mystical Scrapbooks Chat

Here is the sketch I designed ...

The corrugated cardboard is from the packing boxes that scrapbook goodies arrive in.
Spray the top layer with some water and then it will soften up enough that you can peel it back and reveal the corrugation.

Other products from the Mystical Store are:

My textile element is the twine.

Have Fun and happy scrapping.

Scrap the Boys March Challenge - Scrapbook Layout "Dreamer"

Hi Scrap Friends

Today I'm sharing my layout for the March challenge over at

My layout "Dreamer"

This month we were inspired by the below image.
March 2019 Challenge

I first decided to create a star background and used stamps with clear and sparkle embossing powders.
Then I used Colour Blast Shimmer Dust and water colour to create a background similar to the image.

I chose this photo of Master Z in the strangest sleeping position as it matched the "Dreamer" title which was inspired by the night time theme of the board.

I had such fun creating this layout and I love the result.

Thanks for visiting.

March Challenge Scrapbook Layouts - Posted on Facebook

Hello Scrappy Friends

Just visited my blog and realised how slack I've been.
It seems as though most of the scrappy challenges have moved over to Facebook.
I decided though that I would create a post dedicated to my scrappy creations each month.

--- A2Z Scraplets DT --- "Heaven on Earth" Scrapbook Layout 9x12

Hi Scrap Friends

Today I'm sharing a layout for A2Z Scraplets

My layout "Heaven on Earth"

Sometimes when my mojo goes AWOL I like to create a 9x12 page which can sometimes kickstart my creativity.

This page uses scraps of paper with a sunburst stencil.

It was pretty busy with patterns so I left the
fairly basic.
I gave it a coat of sparkly embossing powder.

I also added the cutfile in the photo background and embellished with stickers and cotton.

Thanks for visiting.
Happy Scrapping.

--- Off the Rails Scrapbooking DT --- October Challenge reveal "Show Bags"

Hi Scrap Friends

Today I'm sharing a layout for the October challenge at
Off the Rails Scrapbooking.

My Layout "Show Bags"

This month we are encouraging you to use something recycled on your page.

My page features a photo of my boys at our local show after they picked out their first show bags.
Master C had kept his since May and I decided it would be perfect to recycle for this page.

The bag has an ombre feel starting with orange to red and then black at the bottom.
I used this as my inspiration for the background.

I started with white card stock and used Vicki Boutin water colours with a spatula

Other elements include acrylic through a stencil and stamping before adding title and a little bit of sparkle.

Can't wait to see your recycled projects.

Happy Scrapping.

--- A2Z Scraplets DT --- "The best day" Scrapbook layout step by step

Hi Scrap Friends

Today I'm sharing a layout for A2Z Scraplets

My layout "The best day"

This page features tow chippies.
First the Leafy Stems

I decided to colour them with my Distress Crayons, so first they got a coat of white gesso.

Then with my chosen colours, I draw on the leaf and smudge the colour with my fingers.

Repeating the process with different greens.

Finally, just to bring everything together, I added a touch of green glitter paste.

I love how they look, tucked into the flower cluster.

I've also used the Picture Frame 15
Covering it with Nuvo embossing powder which has a gorgeous glitter element.

I love how cute this photo is of my boys at Dreamworld.
So simple to put together with a easy torn paper background and lots of A2Z Scraplets Chipboard elements.

Thanks for visiting.
Happy Scrapping.

--- A2Z Scraplets DT --- "Fingers & Toes" Scrapbook Layout

Hi Scrap Friends

Today I'm sharing a layout for A2Z Scraplets

My layout "Fingers and Toes"

While recently looking through some baby albums I found a bunch of photos that hadn't been scrapped. So I'm working through some baby pics (even though my boys are now 5).

I started with the lovely Fingers and Toes chipboard.
I've used Colour Blast Embossing powder in "Indigo" to colour it.

I also discovered this super sweet "ABC" blocks chippie.
I decided to leave it a little raw.
I used water colours to highlight the letters and then used the Uniquely Creative sparkle pen to colour the edges.

Other elements on this page are watercolour background, paper frames, splatters, stickers and paper layers.

Thanks for visiting.
Happy Scrapping.
