Today I'm sharing a layout for A2Z Scraplets

My layout "Boys"

I was immediately drawn to this honeycomb chipboard.

It came as a frame but I cut it in half diagonally to use it differently.

I gave it a coat of gesso and then layed it out on the page.

It wasn't until I started playing with paper layers and mixed media background that I decided what to do with the chipboard.
I used the Tim Holtz distress Crayons to colour the chipboard and then blended with my finger - no water needed.

The title received two coats of Colour Blast embossing powder in bling.

Scrap the Boys - January challenge Numbers "2 Boys" Scrapbook Layout

Today's layout is a share for the January challenge at 

Scrap the Boys

My Layout "2 Boys"

This month we were challenged to

I took this two ways - First I created texture in my backgrand with the numbers of various packets of American Crafts "Thickers"

Then covered them with Gesso and applied layers of acrylic paint splatter, Colour Blast shimmer dust and stamping.

Lastly, in choosing this photo it tells the story so I've incorporated that into my title.

This was one of those layouts that started with an idea, halfway through I struggled with the final details but eventually came up with something that I love the final result of!!

Today's layout share is created for the January challenge at 

Jot Magazine

My page "Love"

My inspiration was the bed.

I'm seriously addicted to quilt cover sets and purchase them a LOT!
So I decided to document the story of our bed.

My layers come from various 6x6 paper pieces trimmed and then layered in the background. 

I've coloured some cheeseclothe and made the journalling an important part of the page!

I've also included some nautical elements from the moodboard and of course stuck with the colours.

Today I'm sharing a layout for A2Z Scraplets

My layout "Dude"

This is a very photo light layout but I'm so pleased with the monochromatic feel of this page.

 

I've used the

Spotty Circles Set of 4

They've been treated with a combination of white and turquoise embossing powder.
The large turquoise circle has been raised up with mounting tape to help lift it off the page.

I've also lightly embellished with a Project Life card, trimmed to fit the circle and flowers and flair.

I've been stalking pinterest and I've discovered 9x12 layouts.
I've always been a 12x12 scrapper but I decided to give it a go and the challenge to my creative process really helped.

This month we were given the colour "Princess Pink"


a real challenge for me with a house full of boys.
Arriving in the post was a happy mail box full of Simple Stories "Love & Adore" - perfect for this moodboard!

This layout is different again for me as it doesn't feature a lot of mixed media.
I love the result though.
