*** Mystical Scrapbooks DT *** Aprils Inspiration layout - double scrapbook layout "Bunya Hike" + process video

 

Hi Crafters

Today I'm sharing a new layout created for 

Mystical Scrapbooks

This layout "Bunya Hike" is all about technique.

To create the stripey background you lay washi tape at different intervals.

Then cover with your chosen medium ... you could use water colour, sprays, acrylic paints.

I've used Colour Shimmer Dust "Peacock"

After the medium is dry, you remove the washi tape. 

I then decided to keep the washi tape and use that in my background also. 

I've mounted my photos with Colour Blast Find Paradise paper but I still needed something else.

So I used a stencil and some paste to add a little bit of interest.

Finishing off with a couple of florals and some Gold thickers letters

I seriously love red!

But I hardly ever scrap with it. I find it very difficult to make a beautiful page so ...

--- White... with 1 CT --- November challenge reveal "Sweet" Scrapbook layout

Sorry for being so absent on my blog lately.
Lots going on behind the scenes.

Today though, I'd like to share my layout for the November challenge at
White ... with 1

"Sweet"

I Scraplifted this layout after discovering it on Pinterest.

We want you to create a layout inspired by the moodboard and featuring "Orange Blaze"

Looking through my photo stash, I found this photo of Master Z on an orange slide.

Then it was just a matter of collecting anything orange from my stash.

For my background I've used Vicki Boutin watercolour tubes and spread them with the tube.

I added a couple of black elements and stamping to help lift the layout.

I'm so pleased with how this one turned out.

I'm so pleased to be sharing inspiration for 

Here is my layout
"Zed"



The inspiration for this page was the Mixed Media Kit featuring the fabulous Colour Blast Artists Inks in "Citrus", "Marine" and "Sunburnt".

I decided that I wanted to make a water colour background, but I didn't want it to be solid colour.
So I took some old washi tape and taped off sections of white cardstock.

I then added the artists inks firstly in Citrus and Sunburnt, sprayed with water and dried with heat gun.
I left it overnight to make sure it was completely dry then repeated the process with Marine and Citrus.

After it dried, I removed the washi tape and got this awesome stripey background.

I decided to trim it and mount it on  black cardstock.

The rest of the page is just layering embellishments with some stitching and a couple of black ink splatters to finish it off.

Here is my inspiration for you
"Cake"

The inspiration for this page came from the cute baking embellishments on the sticker sheet.
I chose these super cute photos of Master C "licking the beaters". I love his face and the little smudge of cake batter on his nose.

Master C's favourite colour is green, so I focused on that as my main colour with some small pops of pink to help draw the mix master sticker into the layout.

 

I think the title and the chipboard sticker are just spot on.
"Today I am happy because ... Cake!"

In the background I've used some glitter paste through the stencil in the Mixed Media kit.

Also on this page you'll actually find some of the packaging that the embellishments came in - don't forget to keep some of the pretty "rubbish" to use on your pages.

Today I'm sharing a layout for A2Z Scraplets

My layout "Fingers and Toes"

While recently looking through some baby albums I found a bunch of photos that hadn't been scrapped. So I'm working through some baby pics (even though my boys are now 5).

I started with the lovely Fingers and Toes chipboard.

I've used Colour Blast Embossing powder in "Indigo" to colour it.

I also discovered this super sweet "ABC" blocks chippie.

I decided to leave it a little raw.

I used water colours to highlight the letters and then used the Uniquely Creative sparkle pen to colour the edges.

Other elements on this page are watercolour background, paper frames, splatters, stickers and paper layers.

Today I've got a layout to share for Scrapbook Boutique 

"Love you to the moon"

This page started as a 9x12 but as it developed I added the black 12x12 background.

In the Scrapbook Boutique store you will find some gorgeous paper collections.
I love this one ...

So of course, I needed to make a boys layout.
I also did a little fussy cutting and embellished with a cute little paper fan.

I've kept the background fairly simple with lots of colour splatters using the Vicki Boutin Water colours.

Today I've got a layout to share for Scrapbook Boutique 

"Mayor's Ball"

I really wanted to make a lovely floral page as it's something I don't often do.
The inspiration came from the paper collection ...



I've created my own striped background using the Vicki Boutin water colour set.



I fussy cut some flowers from the patterned papers and combined them with Prima Flowers to complete the page.
