--- Scrapbook Boutique DT --- Scrapbook Layout + process video "Hey"

 Hi Scrap Friends

Today I've got a layout to share for Scrapbook Boutique

"Hey"

I recently had the honor of attending a mixed media background workshop with Natalie May and she said something that stuck with me "Don't think - just Do!"

So I gathered some supplies and "Did!?"

I've used Colour Blast Mica powder in Cool Mint to create my background.

Pop Up Image

This layout started as an experiment in mixed media.

Other embellishing on the page is some chipboard circles and flourishes.

Flowers from 49 & Market and chipboard stickers from Cocoa Vanilla Studio.

You can find all of these products at

The bonus is that I decided to video so that I could share with you.

One final tip ...
The mica powder is still reactive, so I've sealed my layout with clear spray sealer!
Also good if you wanted to add additional mediums over the top, so the mica powder doesn't blend.

Thanks for visiting.

--- A2Z Scraplets DT --- "Zoom" Scrapbook Layout

Hi Scrap Friends

Today I'm sharing a layout for A2Z Scraplets

My layout "Zoom"

I started this layout with the
which I've treated with a coat of gesso followed by gold acrylic paint.
I also mounted it on the patterned paper to help it lift off the page!

Papers and elements on this page are from Kitaholic Kit Club and include the patterned papers, flair, thickers and embellishments.

I started this page by creating as I normally would - patterned background paper with layers.
I decided it was looking a little bit like everything else I create so tilted it on an angle - trimmed the background, mounted on white card and added some machine stitching.

I just love how this one turned out. So simple and easy but really different!

Thanks for visiting.
Happy Scrapping.

Show us your Stuff June Challenge - Scrapbook Layout "Wild"

Hi Scrap Friends

Today I'd like to share a layout created for the June challenge over at

This month the challenge was to use two side-by-side colours from the colour wheel.

I'm really drawn to yellow at the moment so I went with yellow and orange.
I firstly raided my stash for some papers and started building a background, followed by some background stencilling and embellishing.

I have of course featured a Charms Creations heart as my handmade item.

I love the raw touches of chipboard on this page!.

Thanks for visiting.

Artastic challenge blog - June Scrapbook Layout

Hi Scrap Friends

Today I'm sharing a layout created for the June challenge at
Artastic Challenge Blog

"Cousin Love"

This month we were challenged with this inspiration piece.

Our layout should either be vintage or feature children.

Vintage is not my thing, so I went with children.
I'd had this photo printed for awhile, as I love how the cousins are holding hands and walking together to the beach.
I hadn't scrapped it as it's a "no faces" photo and I couldn't get it to work.
With the inspiration piece of children holding hands - it was finally time to get it scrapped!

I really liked the pastel feel of the print, so I chose the Kaisercraft "Daydreamer" collection.

I chose this patterned paper because I thought it would work well but as I started to create - it was really challenging to work with!

I ended up cutting the top right corner and then remounting it on some patterned paper, with my photo in the middle and some mixed media in the background.

My journalling appears crooked in the photo but it's pretty straight on the layout - not sure what's going on there!

Thanks so much for visiting.

coated with a layer of gesso and then coloured with Tim Holtz Distress Crayons.

I've added some metal cogs to add a little extra interest to this boy page.

The papers on this page are from the "You Rock" collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio and I've added some Nuvo mousse in "Cornflower blue" to the background.

Thanks for visiting.
Happy Scrapping.

123 challenge blog June challenge - scrapbook Layout "I love right now"

Hi Scrap Friends

It's been a little quiet on the blog as I work on some project for upcoming DT positions.
So today I decided to share with you a layout I created for the June challenge at
123 Challenge Blog

"I Love Right Now"

This month was definitely a challenge ...

I decided to start with an off white paper and lean heavily towards neutrals.
I chose this marble effect 12x12 from Heidi Swapp Magnolia Jane collection.

I then added some texture paste through a stencil and while it was still wet, I covered with silver glass chips - to add some bling to my background.

I chose this photo in black and white to keep with the neutral theme and raided my stash for some papers and embellishments to go with it.

Once dried and I started to put the layout together, the background was missing something - so I added some stamping and the little fussy cut bees.

I quite enjoyed this challenging process and although not a true white layout - I like the result.

Thanks for visiting.

--- Scrapbook Boutique DT --- "Boy oh Boy" with Cocoa Vanilla Studio "You Rock" collection

 Hi Scrap Friends

Today I've got a layout to share for Scrapbook Boutique
Just in case you haven't stopped by my blog before,
My main scrapbook inspiration is my boys!
So of course I was eager to get my hands on the Cocoa Vanilla Studio "You Rock" collection.

"Boy oh Boy"

I started this layout by choosing a cut file and using the patterned papers to back the cut file.
I chose my photo based on the colours of this collection - Blue!

I decided to add a little mixed media to the background and first painted on the
"Cornflower blue" Nuvo embellishment mousse followed by the "Aquamarine" Nuvo embellishment mousse through this fabulous stencil!

Other elements on the page are some of the die-cuts, stickers and some cotton.

You can find these items at

or click the links below.

You can see the process to complete this page in this video.
