D-Lish Scraps - March JAP Kit moodboard challenge scrapbook layout

Hi Scrap Friends

Today I'm sharing my take on the March inspiration board at D-Lish Scraps

Such a feminine moodboard - it was instantly a challenge for me.

I stretched the colours a little bit and ignored the sketch because I had these photos that I wanted to create a page about. This is me with my workmates on a recent work gathering (relaxing at dinner).

I seriously loved the little beads in the JAP kit this month.
I spread gel medium onto the page with a spatula and then poured the beads over the top.
Messy but fun!

More than Words January challenge - Scrapbook Layout "Smile, Celebrate, Love"

Hi Scrap Friends

Today I'm sharing my take on the January challenge at

My Layout "Smile, Celebrate, Love"

We were given the word Celebrate and had to include bling on our page.

I really wanted to challenge my comfort levels so instead of starting with white cardstock, I started with black. In completing the page I was going for a minimalist layout with striking effect.

My layers of bling inlcude Bo Bunny silver glitter paste through a stencil, diamontes and gold accents.

--- Off the Rails Scrapbooking DT --- November 1st challenge reveal layout "Party Time"

Hi Scrap Friends

Welcome to November! My first share for you this month is the challenge at

My layout "Party Time"

Seriously, what's not to love about this month's moodboard?!?

I immediately wanted to include all the colours and a feather embellishment.
I made my background by using Tim Holtz Distress crayons over a gessoed (is that a word??) white background.
I've teamed the bright, busy coloured stripes with silver to help break up this layout.
I hand stitched the black circle in the background and layered some textural materials, flowers and chipboards to enhance the page.
I love how the bright colours of the photos are a great match for the background.

Hope you're inspired to play along!

Thanks for visiting.

Don't forget to come back in a couple of days to check out my process video and layout for this moodboard.

Artastic Guest DT October Scrapbook layout "Beautiful"

Hello Scrap Friends

I was honoured to be selected as a winner over at the Artastic Challenge Blog
which resulted in a Guest DT spot for this month.

My Layout "Beautiful"

Inspired by this moodboard " Chris Hobel with Rose Pink."

Seeing this moodboard for the first time - it definitely struck me as challenging.

My scrapping mostly focus's on my boys and I don't often use a lot of pink.
However, this year, I've come to realise a few things.

1. I scrapbook for the therapy of creating art
2. The memories are important but my enjoyment of this hobby is priority
3. Who said I can't put pink on boy pages???? NO-ONE!!

Some of the memories I'm creating will go into an album for me to keep so I have been using pink and flowers more and more.

With that in mind, I went searching for a some inspiration papers and embellishments that I could use to create this page.

My initial idea was florals, pink and texture.
So I raided my stash for papers and then searched for a photo.

Love the result of this one.

Thanks for visiting.

--- Funky Flair Studio DT --- October layout share "Like Dad"

Hi Scrap Friends

Today is a busy day on my blog!
This share is for the creative team at

"Like Dad"

A few notes about this layout:

It's a scraplift and I wish I could remember the blogger's name - I searched and searched to give credit, but I just couldn't find the original layout

So if this is inspired by your layout, leave me a comment so I can provide proper credit.

Second:

Who's got a scrapbook graveyard?
You know that place where your half finished pages go because you either
- don't like it
- you've moved on to another project or
- you were missing the final touches and couldn't finish the layout?

Yeah, that place!
I have one of those and during a recent clean up, I found this layout that had the background and photo ready, all it needed was a title, journalling and embellishment.

That's where my Funky Flair stash came in handy!

I finished the page with some delicious flairs.

You can find them here.

Really like the end result of this page.
 Thanks for visiting.

A mixed media canvas:

An example of my work in mixed media that's never been featured on my blog.
I created this piece for a local art competition to try and bring
mixed media art into the main stream art world.
When creating mixed media pieces I like to make them beautiful and inspiring!

One extra project (because I couldn't decide which ones to submit)

Can't wait to get started on my Round 2 projects.

Bo Bunny May Sketch Challenge scrapbook layout

Hi Scrap Friends

Today I'm sharing a layout I created for the Bo Bunny monthly challenge.

My Layout "Easter"

Here is the inspiration sketch.

I definitely found it challenging, as it's very outside my normal scrapping style

I've used elements and papers from Baby Bump and Believe collections.
I love how these two collections work so well together.

I've chosen photos of my boys at Easter, this was the first year they have really been able
to understand and enjoy themselves.
Such a wonderful memory of their excitement.

I love how this turned out.

Thanks for visiting.
