*** Mystical Scrapbooks DT *** July 3-2-1 challenge reveal

  Hi Crafters

It's challenge reveal day over at Mystical Scrapbooks.

Your challenge is to use 3 x patterned papers, 2 word title and 1 die cut

Here is my inspiration:

"Book Lover"

Each month we are providing a product focus and this month it's Dies.

I've used the Uniquely Creative Barbed Wire

Don't forget that dies don't have to be used for the exact description ... I've used the barbed wire cuts as the string on my tag :)

For the background I'm using Uniquely Creative Chevron paper and cut to 8.5 x 11.

The other patterned papers used on this layout are:

Once upon a Christmas

Ocean Breeze

I chose my photo thinking about a two word title and used black thickers

I've included a die cut tag and added lots of stars.

I've created an area for my journalling at the bottom over the mesh ribbon which provides some great texture.

To finish I've mounted it on some black cardstock.

I look forward to seeing your challenge entries.

Happy crafting.

*** Mystical Scrapbooks *** 8 week challenge - Around the world - Week 6: India

 Heading south now...

Fabulous challenge this week ...

Here is my inspiration

"Stories"

I love this challenge.

I have a 6x6 Minc machine which is gathering dust.
So I decided to get some foil supplies out!
So glad I did.

I started by adding a layer of DecoFoil Transfer Gel through a Hexagon Stencil
It dries kind of tacky.

Then I grabbed foil in the brightest colour I had - Blue

I place the foil over the gel and heat with my heat gun.
Then using my hands (not recommended as it's hot) or a hard but blunt tool I smudge the foil into the gel.

More smudging gives a more even affect, but I like the rough look, so I just keep adding until I'm happy.

The background is so vibrant I kept the embellishing simple - the ribbon from the kit and some fussy cut florals.

This photo is not a particular favourite but I love the story it tells.

You can check out the process in this video:

*** Mystical Scrapbooks *** 8 week challenge - Around the world - Week 4: France

Heading east now across the North Atlantic Ocean ...

Half way around the world and we are settling in France for the week.

Here is my inspiration layout:

The challenge to include fabric and lace was difficult for me.
I had a good think about this one and

So I pulled out some supplies and started to think about the background.

I started with the Uniquely Creative "Ocean Breeze" paper and used a sponge to add some Kaisercraft Acrylic Paint - Tropical Water in stripes.

I managed to find some tulle with spots and this became my fabric element.
I've used the ribbon from the kit and kept it simple for embellishing.

Other items are the Foam Title and bling cardstock.

Here is the process video for this layout:

123 Challenge Blog December Scrapbook Layout "Together"

Hi Scrap Friends

Today I'm sharing a layout created for the December challenge at

My page "Together"

The sketch has a real Christmas feel but I really took my inspiration from the colours.

I spent a bit of time stash busting to put this page together. Lots of elements from my all time favourite collection Simple Stories "Life in Color".

My background is painted on with Colour Blast shimmer dust in "Candy"

Mostly I left this page really simple to allow the photo (one of my favs) to really shine.

Thanks for visiting.
Happy Scrapping.

I've used papers and elements from the Maggie Holmes "Chasing Dreams" collection - so pretty.

Here is the process video for completing this page.

More than Words February challenge - Scrapbook Layout "Together"

Hi Scrap Friends

Today I'm sharing a layout for the February challenge at

"Together"

This month we had to find an "&" and use it in a layout + the word "Together"

I downloaded an ampersand cut file from The Cut Shoppe
and cut it on stencil material.

I then used spray mist through the stencil to create an ampersand background.
I had no idea what this layout was going to arrive at. I started with white card and the stencil idea.
I  chose orange from my stash of sprays - the layout progressed from there.

Thanks for visiting.

--- A2Z Scraplets DT --- Christmas Wall Hanging + process video

Hi Scrap Friends

Today I'm sharing a project for A2Z Scraplets

I've created a Christmas wall hanging.
I've also created a process video as part of my
12 Days of Christmas YouTube project.

"Tis the Season"

Here's a close up.

The "Sparkle" chipboard has gone through the minc machine and been treated with gold foil.

The flag banner received a coat of white gesso and gold embossing powder.

A lot of the extras on this canvas came from the Christams decorating section of my local discount store.

I love the way it looks on the wall and the bells jingle which gives this piece an awesome festive feel.

You can find these chipboard pieces in the
A2Z Scraplets Store

If you'd like to see how I created this, please check out the process video:

Happy Scrapping.

--- A2Z Scraplets DT --- "Just Perfect" Scrapbook Layout

Hi Scrap Friends

Today I'm sharing a layout for A2Z Scraplets

"Just Perfect"

For this layout I've used the Kaisercraft Sea Breeze collection and teamed it with a lovely burlap ribbon I found at my local discount store.

These two chipboards are "Just Perfect" - sorry, not sorry!

Find A2Z Scraplets "Just Perfect" here
or
"Large butterfly corner" here

I decided to simply heat emboss them as they are so pretty and detailed, they didn't need a lot of treatment.

I've used Colour Blast Steel and Envy on these chipboards.

Thanks for visiting.
Happy Scrapping.

Artastic Guest DT October Scrapbook layout "Beautiful"

Hello Scrap Friends

I was honoured to be selected as a winner over at the Artastic Challenge Blog
which resulted in a Guest DT spot for this month.

My Layout "Beautiful"

Inspired by this moodboard " Chris Hobel with Rose Pink."

Seeing this moodboard for the first time - it definitely struck me as challenging.

My scrapping mostly focus's on my boys and I don't often use a lot of pink.
However, this year, I've come to realise a few things.

1. I scrapbook for the therapy of creating art
2. The memories are important but my enjoyment of this hobby is priority
3. Who said I can't put pink on boy pages???? NO-ONE!!

Some of the memories I'm creating will go into an album for me to keep so I have been using pink and flowers more and more.

With that in mind, I went searching for a some inspiration papers and embellishments that I could use to create this page.

My initial idea was florals, pink and texture.
So I raided my stash for papers and then searched for a photo.

Love the result of this one.

Thanks for visiting.

Scrap the Boys October sketch challenge scrapbook layout "Mealtime"

Hi Scrap Friends

Today I'm sharing a layout for the October challenge at

I've been busy behind the scenes but when I saw this sketch, I knew I wanted to play along.

My Layout "MealTime"

I find sketches really inspiring and I love the challenge of stretching the limits of the sketch to my own personal style.

This layout came together quickly with just some paper layering and a water colour background
made using Tim Holtz distress ink.
Other elements are from Cocoa Vanilla Studio.

Thanks for visiting.

--- Scrapbook Boutique DT --- October 10 Moodboard challenge reveal scrapbook layout + process video

Hi Scrap Friends

Welcome to the October challenge at

Here is this month's moodboard:

So many ways to be inspired - colour, texture and even butterflies.

Here is my interpretation. "Fly"

I've used Lots of Tim Holtz mediums to create my background.
The inspiration came from the ombre blue/purple part of the  moodboard.
The photo I chose was also to reflect the theme of "butterfly"
