*** Mystical Scrapbooks DT *** December inspiration "Happy" Mixed Media 12x12 layout

Hi Crafters

Today I'm sharing a little bit of mixed media inspiration for Mystical Scrapbooks

I adore the Frosted Sugar Powder and wanted to explore some of it's uses.

So I decided to combine it with Multi Medium and  Colour Blast Shimmer Dust Peacock.

I trialled it through a stencil but couldn't get the desired effect so I ended up with a freestyle background.

I've teamed this with Fancy Pants paper and Fancy Pants tags

I like to have some form of border on my layouts so Washi tape was perfect for this.

To finish I added some Simple Stories Embellishments a bit of Gold splatter and some Sequins.

Today I'm sharing a new layout created for 

Mystical Scrapbooks

For August we are focusing on textiles.

So here is my inspiration "Cool Dude"

So my challenge to you is to use two colours and any form of textile.
I've used the Black burlap ribbon

I've used the following products:

White cardstock

Texture paste

Colour Blast Shimmer Dust - Lush

Colour Blast Shimmer Dust - Sunflower

Stencil

True North Papers

Black burlap ribbon

Cocoa Vanilla Studio Stickers

Scrap the Boys

Inspiration for this layout is a Christmas page featuring a man in your life.

This photo is a little blurry so was tricky to scrap, but I managed to distract with lots of background elements. 

I also don't often scrap on Kraft background so this was a huge challenge for me.

Scrap the Boys - December challenge "Naughty" Scrapbook layout for boys

Apparently I did not read the blog well enough as this month is supposed to be a Christmas challenge.

I thought it was a "naughty or nice" challenge and hence my photo and title.

Even if I'm not eligible for voting I still wanted to share.

I've used Nuvo Embellishment mousse in the background and Cocoa Vanilla Studio papers.

--- A2Z Scraplets DT --- "Adorable" Scrapbook Layout

Today I'm sharing a layout for A2Z Scraplets

My layout "Adorable"

This month over in the A2Z Scraplets papercraft challenge facebook group you'll find a fun moodboard to play along with.

The explosion of colour was my inspiration. So I took a a neutral paper collection (Kaisercraft Pen & Ink) and added some colour.

We'd also like you to scrap a celebration.

You can find this "Adorable" word in the A2Z Scraplets shop.

I've firstly coated it with white gesso, then coloured with Distress Ink.

Finally I've given it a coat of Colour Blast embossing powder "Snow White"

In the background layers, you'll also find the Jenny Frame, which I've covered with black gesso.

The mixed media background features texture paste, Colour Blast Shimmer dust and black gesso.

--- Scrapbook Boutique DT --- "Us" Scrapbook layout + process video

Today I've got a layout to share for Scrapbook Boutique 

"Us"

Lately my creative mojo has gone missing!!!
So when it comes to creating I'm struggling.
To complete this page, I've tried going back to some old techniques.



Firstly paste through a stencil.
I just adore this Trodat leaf stencil.



Then I added some of my "go to" colour - teal!

I've used acrylic paint and added lots of water, allowing the paint to run through the paste and down the page.

The background papers come from the fabulous DCWV "Wild and Fancy" collection.

Once I'd finished with the mixed media elements, I wanted to tidy it all up and bring it together.

So I hand stitched around the inner paper square.

To finish I've added some flowers and leaves.
The title I cut using the Cameo and gave it a coat of black gesso, followed by a little sprinkle of glitter.

Show us your Stuff - September challenge - scrapbook layout "You Rock"

Today I'm sharing a layout for Show us your stuff

"You Rock"

This month they are challenging us to create a mixed media layout.



My page has a few different elements.
While digging through my stash I found this cool embossed cardstock.
So I  pulled out my Distress Crayons and smudged all different shades of purple onto the background.

I then added a layer of Colour Blast paste in "Bling" through a stencil.
Followed by lots of acrylic paint splatters - turquoise, lilac and purple.

Black background stamping, Chipboard painted purple and some wood veneer pieces to embellish.

My handmade piece is the XO from Charms Creations.

I really like the detail of this page and that it's not weighed down with too many heavy embellishments.
