Scrapbooking Top 50 Aus - March moodboard challenge layout

Hi Scrap Friends

Today's share is a layout for the March challenge at

"Lovely"

Inspiration this month came from this moodboard

I recently went to a weekend crop and this was one of the challenges I completed.

My colouring is a little off as I printed the moodboard to take with me and the turquoise looked more blue.
Thought I would still share it as I love the way the black and white photo pops off the coloured background.

I created it by first giving my papers a coat of clear gesso, then used the packaging technique to apply the blue and then filled in the gaps with yellow distress crayon - freestyled and then smudged with my finger.

Thanks for visiting.

Scrap Around the World June Moodboard scrapbooking layout

Hello Scrap Friends

My first challenge share for the month is Scrap Around the World.

My Layout "A Fabulous Day"

Sometimes a layout comes together really easily and this was one of those. I started with some modelling paste and mist on the page, layered some stamping, pearls, accordian flower, muslin, photo, flowers, journalling & done!!!
I picked this photo as I'm trying to scrap myself more often and this moodboard felt perfect for a recent selfie taken at the races.

I was inspired by the pretty pastel orange and turquoise colors,
the grey background of the quote, the chevron pattern
 and of course the flowers.

Materials:

Merci Paper, Modelling paste, Kaisercraft 'Orange' mist, black ink, stamping, CM Paper, grey muslin, Prima flower, Kaisercraft flower, pearls, black pen, gesso

123 Challenge Blog - Scrapbooking Layout

Hi Scrap Friends

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my layout inspired
by the challenge over at 123 Challenge Blog.

I have to admit, I really enjoyed the challenge of having some guidelines to work with.

Here's my layout "Brand New Baby Boy"

The requirement for this challenge is to use
the colour Beige, the word Baby and the technique of banners.
The photo isn't quite the same colour but the background paper is a really pretty
patterned beige which I've then accented with lots of browns, umber & bisque.
I've also included some beige embellishments.

Please feel free to leave a comment.

Pink, pearl & lace fascinator - handmade by me

Hello ...
and thank you for stopping by to visit my blog.

Mostly I share my scrapbooking pages here,
however I dabble in some other crafty pursuits - when I have the time!

Today I'm sharing with you one of my favourite hobbies - Millinery!

I started making my own fascinators when I couldn't find one to match a dress about four years ago.

Since then, whenever I head off to the races, I pick an outfit and then accesorise accordingly!

Below is a recent fascinator I made to wear to the races.

I started with white felt as I had a dusty pink dress that I couldn't match felt to.
I then mixed various sprays until I matched one close to my dress.
I had an image in my mind of pearls threaded through wire.
I'm really pleased with the result and it's one of my favourite fascinators by far!

This piece is available for purchase.
I'll have a scrapbook page of my outfit with pictures coming soon!

I'm also available for custom pieces (four weeks notice required).
So if you have something in mind, feel free to drop me an email at

The Scrapbook Boutique April Challenge - Mother's Day Card

Hi Scrap Friends

I'm sharing today a card I completed which was inspired by the Scrapbook Boutique April challenge.

Ok, so I have to admit, I'm not really a card person. I enjoy making them and enjoying giving them away, however I much prefer watching a layout come together rather than a card.

I was inspired on another blog I visited to get into card making a little more!

Every month Scrapbook Boutique have these delicious cupcake challenges and this one made my mouth water! So my card is a mix of purples, browns and silver.

Thanks for looking

Materials:

Brown & purple card stock, gesso, paper, Mont Marte silver acrylic, Kaisercraft purple acrylic, Kaisercraft Antique Bazaar collectable frame, silver twine, pearl ribbon, flower and stickers

Sassy Scrapper - March Mood Board "Good Times"

I love the colour orange, so as soon as I saw the mood board from Sassy Scrapper I wanted to play.

"Good Times"

I was inspired by the colours but didn't really want to make a pastel layout, so brightened everything up. I used a round base of Gesso like the cake and included the pretty pearl flourish from Green Tara as pearls are often found on a wedding gown.

The photo is a picture of my Mum hanging out with my two year old twin boys (It's almost impossible to get a picture of them both, looking at the camera AND smiling).
I chose black and white so that I could use the more feminine colours of the mood board, but put my boys in it.

Thanks for visiting, please feel free to leave a comment.

Materials:

Creative Memories paper, gesso, Kaisercraft "Hot Pink", Jo Sonja's "Orange", washi tape, Gelatos "Watermelon", paper scraps, Silver Ink, ribbon, Orange cardstock, Little Birdie flower, Green Tara pearl flourish, Flourish with a Bling flower, Kaisercraft flower & diamonte, Kaisercraft "Dream Big" collectable

DLish Scraps - Beachside Bliss - Scrapbooking layout "Campsite View"

Hi fellow scrappers

As soon as I saw the DLish Scraps February Moodboard "Beachside Bliss" I had the perfect photo in mind.

I was immediately inspired by the pearls. I've had some very pretty pearl ribbon at home that I've been wanting to use but hadn't found the right layout.

I started this layout with white cardstock and then chalked the background like a beach, with blue sky, blue ocean and yellow sand.
I then layered some texture paste with a stencil, embellished and spray inked the hole page before adding the photo, pearl ribbon and flower.

Please feel free to leave a comment.

Materials:

White cardstock, Stampin Up Chalks, texture paste, stencil, black pen, Green Tara Pearl spray, Scrap FX chipboard, plasterers tape, gesso, Kaisercraft spray ink, Little Birdie flower, Kaisercraft sticker, pearl ribbon
