Kraft + April challenge Scrapbook Layout "Smile"

Hi Scrap Friends

Ok, so it's been a little while since I've played at Kraft + challenge
but honestly with a "Black + white" theme - who could resist.

My layout "Smile"

 April Kraft + Challenge

The challenge is of course to use kraft plus black & white and to be inspired by the moodboard.

My layout has a background of white gesso, then some Faber Castelle Asphalt paste through a stencil, followed by various layers of black and white embellishing.

(Don't tell anyone, but I actually emptied out my little box of extra bits - everything you see on this layout, came from there!!! Stash busting at it's best!)

I took inspiration from the plates and used a Mr Huey's stencil in a similar pattern.

Thanks for visiting.

Don't forget to leave a comment this month to be in the draw to win a prize from me.

Kaisercraft August sketch challenge Scrapbook Layout

Hello Scrap Friends

Today I'm sharing a layout that is very special to me.

In November 2014 I lost a very dear friend that was like a second mother
to me and helped our family so much by caring for our twins.

She was taken very suddenly by a car accident and left a huge void in so many lives.

This is the only picture I have of this wonderful lady and
I have been unable to scrapbook it until now.

Here is the layout "Bev"

This is inspired by the August Kaisercraft Sketch.

Kaisercraft products used:

Art of Life Paper and collectables, Oh so Lovely paper
Flowers, Stencil, Chipboard flourish, diamontes,
Antique Gold spray mist

Additional products used:
Flourish with a bling & Thickers

Hello Scrap Friends

Stopping by to share a layout I created using inspiration from

My layout "Sweet"

... What's cuter than one sleeping baby? Two sleeping Babies ...

The moodboard for July is so pretty with some lovely pastel colours -
perfect for a layout of my twin boys.

 Here are some close ups.
.
The "Sweet" is stamped and heat embossed with black.

Scrap the Boys June Sketch scrapbooking layout "Shine"

Hello Scrap Friends

Phew, I can't believe how fast June is going by and where is the year going?

I've been busy with other work, so not many challenges done,
but hopefully some good news to share in the future.

Today, I'm sharing my layout for Scrap the Boys.

My Layout "Shine"

They had a sketch this month, which I decided to rotate.
I don't do this often but really felt drawn to the sketch vertical!

Thanks for visiting.

Sassy Scrapper - March Mood Board "Good Times"

I love the colour orange, so as soon as I saw the mood board from Sassy Scrapper I wanted to play.

"Good Times"

I was inspired by the colours but didn't really want to make a pastel layout, so brightened everything up. I used a round base of Gesso like the cake and included the pretty pearl flourish from Green Tara as pearls are often found on a wedding gown.

The photo is a picture of my Mum hanging out with my two year old twin boys (It's almost impossible to get a picture of them both, looking at the camera AND smiling).
I chose black and white so that I could use the more feminine colours of the mood board, but put my boys in it.

Thanks for visiting, please feel free to leave a comment.

Materials:

Creative Memories paper, gesso, Kaisercraft "Hot Pink", Jo Sonja's "Orange", washi tape, Gelatos "Watermelon", paper scraps, Silver Ink, ribbon, Orange cardstock, Little Birdie flower, Green Tara pearl flourish, Flourish with a Bling flower, Kaisercraft flower & diamonte, Kaisercraft "Dream Big" collectable

Scrap the Girls - Mixed Media layout "Mum"

I went through a big mixed media phase but haven't really been playing much lately as felt it wasn't really my style. There are some beautiful mixed media artists out there that are so inspiring so after visiting some other blogs and watching a few tutorials I thought I'd have another play around and see what I could come up with.

This is my layout for Scrap the Girls March sketch challenge.

This is a photo of my Mum and I at my baby shower, so the title Mum has a double meaning. Since becoming a mum myself, I have so much more respect for my own mum and am grateful for everything she's done and continues to do for me.

A close up of the flowers - a mix of Little Birdie, Kaisercraft and Flourish with a Bling.

Materials:

Black cardstock, gesso, texture paste, Kaisercraft red acrylic paint, Mod podge "Matte", Gelatos "Silver Ice", various papers, stamps, embossing powder, cotton twine, "Mum" cut from Cricut "Artiste" cartridge, black ink, Flowers, butterfly and Merci leaves

White with 1 - February Scrapbook layout "Dream Big"

I love when the start of the month falls on a weekend so that when the scrapbooking challenges are released, I can get straight into my scrap room and start crafting.

Visit White with 1 here http://whitewith1.blogspot.com.au/

My layout "Dream Big"

As soon as I saw the colour, I had two ideas. One was to do an ombre colour background with spray and the other was to make it the background and overlay with a cutout.

This pic also shows the sparkly embossing that's also under the overlay.

Materials for this project:
White cardstock, Jo Sonja's "Orange", embossing ink and powder, orange cardstock, white and orange felt floral runner, Kaisercraft Dream Big collectables, Flourish with a Bling flower, Kaisercraft flower, buttons, ribbon
