Today I'm sharing a layout for

Scrap the Boys

Inspiration for this layout is a Christmas page featuring a man in your life.

This photo is a little blurry so was tricky to scrap, but I managed to distract with lots of background elements. 

I also don't often scrap on Kraft background so this was a huge challenge for me.

Apparently I did not read the blog well enough as this month is supposed to be a Christmas challenge.

I thought it was a "naughty or nice" challenge and hence my photo and title.

Even if I'm not eligible for voting I still wanted to share.

I've used Nuvo Embellishment mousse in the background and Cocoa Vanilla Studio papers.

We recently spent a weekend at Woodgate Beach and I really wanted to scrap these photos of my boys at the beach - the brights of this collection are perfect!

My layout "My Heart"

What's not to love about the "Hello Baby" inspiration this month??

I looked through lots of photos but I really wanted it to be a genuine "baby" photo.

This one was waiting in the baby album for it's very own page so I decided to look up the date it was taken and use that as part of my page - "7 days new"

Oh how I miss those sweet, snuggly times.
Even though at the time I really struggled to enjoy it because of the pressure to feed, sleep, gain weight etc.

Someone sent me this quote and I have always tried to remember it
"The days are long but the years are short"

It's true... my boys are now five and started prep this year.
Each day can be a struggle but life goes so fast, I try to remember to just stop and enjoy it.

Scrap the Boys - May Challenge "Sweet" Scrapbook layout

Today I'm sharing a challenge entry for May.

My schedule means that I don't get to play along with challenges very often but this month I'm making time!!!

My layout for the challenge at Scrap the boys.

"Sweet"

This moodboard has such a great "Boy" feel to it.

My inspiration came from the combination of blue and green colours + the leaves.

I chose an outdoors photo of Master Z that also includes the inspiration colours.

My background is a stripey paper - also moodboard inspired.

I've covered it with some White Heavy Gesso and then used Colour Blast Shimmer Dusts in "Navy" and "Cobalt" to create the colour.

Finally, I've added some paper layering and title + a few small embellishments.

Today I'm sharing a layout for A2Z Scraplets

My layout "I am woman"

How cute is this month's moodboard?

Now if you are looking at it and thinking it's tricky ... don't worry - I thought the same.

But I broke it down into the main areas that I noticed first.

1. Wood!

2. Pattern

3. Turquoise

I've used Flourish 81 as part of my cluster.

Firstly I gave it a coat of white gesso and then coloured with various Distress Crayons.

The gesso helps them smudge and blend together.

For my title, I've chosen the I am Woman word.

To help it stand out on my page, I've used "Bling" embossing powder from Colour Blast.

To embellish the page, I've chosen some stickers and flowers.

My background features Colour Blast paste in "Envy"

Artastic Challenge Blog August scrapbook layout "Boys Rule"

Today I'm sharing a layout inspired but the August challenge over at 

Artastic Challenge Blog

My Layout "Boys Rule"

This month they asked us to be inspired by this piece by Joshua Miels with the criteria to use black and white PLUS one (one other colour).

Based on the image and my love of scrapping my boys, I of course chose Blue.

I started by stamping my white cardstock background, then colouring the stamped area with

Colour Blast shimmer spray in "Deep Water"
As an added layer of colour, I've also added some droplets from the Colour spray"Carribean"

I got a little bit stuck embellishing this page, but ended up making this washi banner piece and adding my title - with so much going on, I didn't need to add anything more.

This month we had an inspiration board to use.

I decided to base my layout on a happiness quote and chose a black and white photo as per the moodboard.

I've used mainly the Kaisercraft "Indigo Skies" collection.

My handmade item is a Charms Creations star - Love!

White with 1 February Challenge Scrapbook Layout "Dream"

Today I'm sharing a layout created for the February challenge at 

White with 1

My layout "Dream"

This months colour is Blue Jeans.

Also included is an optional sketch.

I decided to use the sketch and proceeded to raid my stash for anything resembling the "Blue jeans" colour.

Of course, I started with white cardstock. I created the border with pastel chalks and went with the "Dream" theme as the photo's are of Master C looking up at the clouds.

I don't know if I'm completely happy with the final result of this page but I enjoyed the process and loved stash busting!
