D-Lish Scraps - Summer Sorbet December Mood Board

I managed to sneak in one last challenge for the month of December. The D-Lish Scraps December mood board. Such pretty colours and great to do something other than the traditional Christmas colours.

My Layout "Captured"

I was inspired by the sketch and used Gesso to create the triangle background. Once dry I then used matte mod podge to give it the shiny smooth look. I also based the layout around the butterfly and used a hint of brown.

Materials:

Kaisercraft Bea-u-tiful paper, Gesso, Mod Podge Matte, paper doillie, Kaisercraft "Sea Breeze" spray ink, washi tape, Kaisercraft "Dream Big" collection, felt flower, Little Birdie butterfly's,

Black with 2 - "Play Ball" December Inspiration Board

I've been looking at the Black with 2 blog and inspiration boards for many months but haven't been confident enough to try them.

This month I decided I could give it a go.

You can visit the Black with 2 blog here: http://blackwith2challenge.blogspot.com.au/

My Layout "Play Ball"

I used the inspiration image when picking my photos as I knew I had these great pics of my son, Master Z with his first ball.
The chevron background is green tissue paper cut into squares, layed out and covered with matt acrylic medium.
I find titling very difficult and will often start a layout with a title in mind. This is also another layout which I used hand journalling - it's really starting to grow on me!

Materials:

Black cardstock, green printed tissue, matt acrylic medium, white cardstock, black ink, Dylusions Calypso Teal & Cut Grass, blue cardstock, Little Birdie flowers and embellishment, modelling paste, Kaisercraft flowers and rhinestones and Merci scrabble stickers

Off the Rails December Mood Board "Around the Tree"

I wouldn't describe myself as a Christmas traditionalist but I found the December mood board at Off the Rails scrapbooking so pretty, I just had to put a page together.

You can check out their blog here:  http://offtherailsscrapbooking.blogspot.com.au/

"Around the Tree"

This is actually a scraplifted layout from my new favourite addiction - Pinterest!!!!
(I know, I know, I'm a little slower than everyone else)

I must admit, I'm still not a fan of the hand journalling thing, but it's growing on me and I'm getting much better at just going with it!

Materials:

Red Cardstock, Various patterened papers, white cardstock, Kaisercraft "North Pole" Collectables, buttons, twine, brads, vellum, green cardstock, rhinestones and gold tape

Off the rails scrapbooking November challenge

Phew, the end of November kind of snuck up on me. Almost didn't get this layout done in time.

I joined in with the team at Off the Rails Scrapbooking for their November Challenge.

I was immediately inspired by the purple and yellow and knew I had some great colours in my stash to play with. I copied the leaves hanging on the twine and made a banner. And of course, "Your Special" but in a slightly different context.

"Your Special Day"

Materials:

Creative Memories Paper, gesso, modelling paste, Close to my heart Stamp, Versa Colour "Violet", Kaisercraft "Violet", yellow & purple cardstock, purple corrugated board, washi tape, Little Birdie burlap flower and butterfly, twine, buttons, ribbon, doillie, diamonties,

D-Lish Scraps Novermber "Coral Glitz" - Boys layout

So many pretty mood boards lately and all very feminine. Which is a struggle for me, living in a house full of boys!!

I love the combination of sketch and mood board and decided to participate at D-Lish Scraps this month.

I am trying to scrap my stash rather than buying new at the moment and found this great sheet of Creative Memories paper, which had just the right colours.  I then layered with some white cardstock and added chevron using gold ink and a stencil. Combined with a hand stitched border and flowers, I titled this page "Boys" because I love the fact that the layout is very "coral glitz" and feminine but I was pregnant with two little boys.

Materials:

Creative Memories paper, White cardsotck, Versa color #91 Gold, Chevron stencil, pink cardstock, embossing folder, white chalk, paper doillie, flowers, gold leaves, gold heart sequins, black ink, black pen

Scrap Around the World - November

I absolutely love playing at Scrap Around the World. The mood board is always so inspiring and is so easy to work with. I love checking out what other scrappers around the world are doing and the ways they are inspired.

Check it out here

http://scraparoundtheworld.blogspot.com.au/2014/11/november-2014-challenge-19-rich-vintage.html

This month I went outside my comfort zone and played with some modelling paste and paint. I was immediately struck by the vibrant colours of the flowers and decided to use orange as one of my main inspirations. I love the window scene with the pretty lace, so used my Cricut to cut out some cute patterns.

I started with white embossed cardstock and used a Gelato's Double Scoop in Silver Ice over the cardstock.

Then I mixed the modelling paste with Jo Sonja's "Orange" and used a grunge chevron stencil to apply.

The orange was a little too vibrant so I covered with a thin layer of Gesso and proceeded to layer the felt doillies and Cricut cutouts with my flowers, paper, stamping and spray ink.

My final layout:

and a close up of the detail.

Materials:

Creative Memories "PS I Love You" Cardstock, Faber Castell Gelato's "Silver Ice", Merci 6 x 6 paper, grey cardstock, black ink, Paper Fields felt doillies, Jo Sonja's "Orange" paint, Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge, Adirondack "Espresso", Kaisercraft Flowers and "Hello Today" collectables, Little Birdie and Green Tara flowers

Sassy Scrappers October Mood Board - "Pink" supporting Breast Cancer

This month's mood board is very close to my heart, with both a family member and workmate experiencing breast cancer recently.

Best of all, Sassy Scrappers are donating $1.00 to Breast Cancer research for every mood board entry this month.

I don't often scrap with pink being that I have a house full of males but enjoyed making a more feminine layout of my husband and I from my 30th birthday celebrations at our local race day.

I was inspired to use ribbon, as the pink ribbon is a huge part of breast cancer fundraising.

Here is the mood board:

Here is my layout "Love You"

Materials:

Merci "Antique" paper, Stampin Up "Regal Rose", Creative Memories Nancy O'Dell "Love Series", various ribbons, modelling paste, washi tape, silver tinsel embossing powder, Little Birdie flower and border, Kaisercraft flowers, Kaisercraft rhinestones, black ink

Scrap Around the World - October Mood Board

Such a pretty mood board from Scrap Around the World this month.

http://scraparoundtheworld.blogspot.com.au/2014/10/october-2014-challenge-18-vibrant.html

My inspiration this month was the butterfly, followed closely by the beautiful purple, blue and aqua colours. I don't often scrap photos of myself but as I thought of the caterpillar emerging as a butterfly, I wanted to dedicate this page to myself.

"Fly"

Materials:

Black cardstock, Creative Memories paper, modelling paste, Cricut cut stencil, Ruby Rock-it flower, Kaisercraft flowers and rhinestones, Little Birdie chalk butterflies, Kaiser "Violet" home made spray, Merci metallic leaves, Sequins

A Personal Share - Mixed Media layout

Every so often I start out with a layout that I feel very underwhelmed by. This layout has been sitting on my desk unfinished for over a week and I haven't felt drawn to finish it. I found myself with half an hour to spare so proceeded to revisit this particular LO.

I'm not sure how, but it turned into something I'm actually quite proud of. The random layering is very unlike my normal style but I feel it actually works.

Materials:

Creative Memories papers & white cardstock, Modelling paste, home made Kaisercraft spray "Sea Breeze", washi tape, stamped accents, twine, Kaisercraft pocket stickers, black pen, buttons and Creative Memories stickers

Once Upon A Sketch - September "Hiding"

I decided to play along at Once Upon a Sketch this month and used some of the new Kaisercraft "Mix & Match" range to inspire me.

I managed to snap these super cute pics of my son Cooper on my phone before he lost interest and wandered off to play with something else. The blanket is pink so I used black and white photos to make it more masculine.

"My Little Indian" - A mixed media page

This page was my entry for our local scrap booking store's September monthly challenge. The last couple had been quite feminine and I asked the owner if she could do a more masculine paper so I could scrap my boys. It was great that she did, but I still found it quite challenging.

The supplies we were given were:

Paper - SEI: Seasoned "Taste Buds", blue cardstock, chipboard cogs and ribbon.

Additional Materials:

Gesso, plasterers tape, Adirondack Color Wash "Espresso", Modelling paste, Brown cardstock, Stampin Up "Soft Suede", Kaisercraft "Bow & Arrow" collectables, Buttons, Kaisercraft "December 25th" Jewels, Kaisercraft little letters, Creative Memories (CM) Sticker, Tim Holtz "Stars" stencil, Cricut & Close to my Heart (CTMH) Artiste Cartridge

Life.Paper.Scrapbook - August Sketch Challenge using Kaisercraft "Brothers"

I recently picked up the Kaisercraft Be-You-tiful range and I'm loving it at the moment.

The papers are almost so good you don't really need to add a lot.

I decided to use them for the Life.Paper.Scrapbook August Sketch Challenge.

I love this photo of my boys hanging out in their dinosaur dressing gowns on a cold winter morning.

Materials:

Kaisercraft Be-YOU-tiful "Dazzling" & "Splendid", Creative Memories (CM) Seasons Grey chevron, Black ink, Gesso, Grey doillie, Washi tape, brown card stock and CM Stickers

My Twins - A personal share

I've been neglecting my blog recently because everyone in my family has been sick. I've finally grabbed some time to head into my craft space and decided I'd share a recent page that I completed for my local Scrapbooking monthly challenge.

We are given the purple stripey paper and the orange and black ribbons. It's always super fun to see how different scrappers, given the same materials can create totally different pages.

I'm super proud of this layout and display it happily in my home.

"Pikelets" - A Scrap Around the World August Mood Board layout

I often wish that my layouts could be as detailed in involved as some of the layouts that win on SATW, but I've accepted that my style is more crisp and clean.

This months Scrap Around the World August Mood Board is a bit challenging for me. I found it quite feminine. With a house full of men can be a bit daunting!!

I was inspired by the aqua colour of the dress which immediately caught my eye. I then paired this with the brown of the cork board. I ended up with a layout of three's.

Materials
White, Aqua and brown cardstock, Stampin-Up in "Soft Suede", CTMH Babycakes paper, Plasters tape, Twine, Kaisercraft "Bow and Arrow", Gesso, Adirondack Color Wash "Espresso", Porta Craft chipboard glitter decal, Rosie's Studio pearls, Cricut cartridge "Boys will be boys"

Home Sweet Home - Life.Paper.Scrapbook July Mood Board - Mixed Media layout

I love following the Issuu magazine Life.Paper.Scrapbook and find it so inspirational and love that it's free!!!

This week I decided to have a go at the July Mood Board.

The following layout is something I had been preparing and it fit in nicely using the blue and red with the "Home" theme. I got a little adventurous and cut a stencil with my Cricut using the "Artbooking" cartridge from Close to My Heart and then used it to stencil on modelling paste. It needs some refinement but I'm overall pretty happy with this layout.

Materials:

Red, Blue and White cardstock, a free patterned paper (from Scrapbooking Memories), Creative Memories (CM) "Home Sweet Home" sticker, CM "Seasons" paper, Cricut "Artbooking" Cartridge, Mont Marte Modelling Paste, Couture Creations Glitzin Clamour "Rainbow", Close to My Heart (CTMH) Ink "Pacifica", Computer journalling, sequins and twine.

Scrap Around the World July Mood Board Challenge

I only recently discovered Scrap Around the World and it's what got me into "Blogs" and "Blogging". So many talented scrappers from all around the world.

I decided to have a go at the mood board for July. It has a very feminine feel and being a mum of twin boys, I find it hard to scrap with anything other than blues, greens and neutrals.

So what better opportunity than to use my baby shower photo for a more girly layout.

Here is the mood board:

http://scraparoundtheworld.blogspot.com.au/2014/07/july-2014-challenge-15-light-airy-mood.html

and here is my layout:

I was inspired by the sewing scene and decided to use stitching on the layout. I also loved the quote about life. I've then gone fairly basic and used the colour palette to guide me.

Materials for this layout:

Creative Memories (CM) Power Palette - Fabulous, Versa Colour Ink in Orchid, Close to my Heart (CTMH) ink in Pacifica, Stampin Up "Thinking of You" Stamp, Black ink, Clear Embossing ink, Embossing powder in "Crystal" and "Wild Plum", Faber Castell Gelatos in Metallic Melon, Cricut cartridge "Art Philosophy" (CTMH), Mont Marte modelling paste (with reverse stamping), Momenta stickers, Sandylion stickers, CM Stickers, Kaisercraft flowers and rhinestones, journalling on PC
